Activated carbon tablets filter harmful chemicals, metals, mold and other unwanted elements from your terrarium or houseplant soil. Add them just above the drainage layer of your terrarium or mix them with your plants' soil to filter out harmful substances.

What makes charcoal “activated”?
By treating ordinary carbon/coal at high temperatures, it expands. This creates many small air pockets. These pockets form the basis of carbon adsorption potential, making it approximately 100x more efficient (more surface area) than regular charcoal.
